Dutch ITS Event
Another Dutch ITS event took place in the Tafelridder in the city of Leiden last Sunday. 20 people were planned to attend. Unfortunately the numbers dwindled a bit the week before the event with people backing out due to other plans. In the end we had 12 left, which was still not a bad number! We were sure toĀ have enough terrain now!
The Day!
Coincidently, our tournament took place during the International Boardgame Day. Needless to say, the LGS was packed with gamers and spectators. 12 for Infinity, 7 for Pathfinder and 6 people came down to play board or cardgames of their choice! It was a good day! š
Ā The sun outside shone bright, and the windows of the store are situated to the south. With the tensionĀ of the tournament rising, the temperature in the store rose as well. Between every round people would go outside to sit in the sun, on the bank of one of the famous Dutch canals crossing the city, located right in front of the store. Taking a break, smoking a cigaret or the other thing the Dutch are famous for and eating a sandwich. It was a very good day indeed!
We had 7 tables of terrain in total, allowing us to do some switching with the players. Every round one table would be left out in favor of another, so nobody would be really prepared for the set-up!
The Tournament!
In total we ran the tournament for four rounds, and it didn’t takeĀ long before the winners were breaking apart from the less winners.
The players from Rotterdam took the lead after the first two rounds, and both haven’tĀ given it away after that. BeneathĀ them the players battled for a good position, and it was fierce!Ā From what we’ve heard from all the players, every battle has been intense till the last roll!

Thank you Tafelridder!
I am really happy to say the Tafelridder invested in some mats for the tables. They were made possible by some of the regular players in the store. Thank you, guys! The Tafelridder even crafted a very cool plaque to show the names of the investors!
These mats gave some of the tables a great good look without much effort and it was a joy to play on, although we’ve heard some complaints of the players playing the center table, where the 6×4 Ice-mat suddenly went over into a 6×4 grassy plains! It caused some confusion. š
The Tafelridder has been an amazing host again, providing players not only with space to play, but also with snacks, beverages and even a lunch for some! Together with the amazing weather (one of the first spring days after winter) it was an amazing day!
Are you running or attending an Infinity event, and do you want to promote it or write about the great day you and your fellow players had? Just send us a message and we’ll be happy to give you a spotlight!
Always great to hear about events happening in so many different places! Looks like it was a good time!
